Aretas Botyrius piano

Hi everyone, my name is Aretas, I’m a pianist and I’m currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London.

I am very excited to be able to present my first commission and an absolute dream come true – two versions of Mountains. Waters. (Freedom) for piano and strings, as well as a version with a symphony orchestra by Gediminas Gelgotas. The first version was premiered at the Klaipeda Concert Hall in Lithuania on 9th December 2015 with the New Ideas Chamber Orchestra NICO and the composer himself conducting. The scores are soon to be published by Peermusic Classical. Have a listen here!

The second premiere is on the 2nd March at the Kaunas State Philharmonic. I am blessed to be playing with the incredible New Ideas Chamber Orchestra NICO again and to have the composer on stage. Will be a very fun night and hope to see you many of you there. Don’t miss out and get your ticket here.

I have always loved piano and the incredible repertoire that has been written for the instrument throughout the centuries. At the same time, I have always had this huge dream to play something very special, something that no one else has played before. I wanted to do it for a really long time now and I have finally found a way to jump into this new experience – I decided to commission a new work for piano.

This is how a very intriguing and refreshing composer Mr. Gediminas Gelgotas came into my target. I find his musical voice very compelling today and his tastefully provocative style engaging to the audiences.

I have created this Internet page to be a be an interactive place to share all the news with you guys, as well as to gather any useful information. If you also find my ideas and projects inspiring, please share your insights and any personal experiences that could help guide me to making my dreams a reality. Financial contribution would also be appreciated immensely as any other form of you kind support.
